William Paul Young is a Canadian author. He wrote the novels The Shack, Cross Roads and Eve. In an interview Young said he had written primarily as a way to create unique gifts for his friends, until his wife repeatedly urged him to write something for their six children in order to put down in one place his perspectives on God and on the inner healing Young had experienced as an adult. The resulting manuscript, that later became New York Times Best Seller and the base for a Hollywood Movie: The Shack, was intended only for his six kids and for a handful of close friends.
He was invited to Oakwood University as Speaker and I had an opportunity to speak with him about life experiences. A notable theme from his presentation and our conversation was this: “…everyone has a story.” I’m half way through the book but the in-person meeting has given new perspectives on what i’ve read and fueled the fire to finish the book.
